Le concours de design Reddot créé en 1955 par le musée du design d’Essen en Allemagne réunit chaque année un jury international qui évalue les pièces présentées selon leur degré d’innovation, de fonctionnalité et de qualité esthétique.
Choisi parmi les 3231 produits des 49 pays participants, le chronographe BC4 Flight Timer d’Oris obtient le titre de « best of the best » décerné par le Reddot, pour son design et sa capacité à afficher trois fuseaux horaires simultanément sur un cadran.

· Cadran noir en deux parties avec décor imprimé, index appliques en nickel, aiguilles en nickel avec inserts en revêtement luminescent.
· Boîtier en acier composé de plusieurs pièces, fixé par 4 vis. Fond avec fenêtre en verre minéral. Verre saphir bombé sur les deux faces, avec traitement antireflet sur la face intérieure.
· Couronne avec système de protection Oris Quick Lock et poussoirs en acier.

With its innovative and outstanding design, the Oris BC4 Flight Timer has won a 2009 red dot: best of the best Award in the category of Product Design. Today the red dot design award is the best known and most competitive international design prize.
Just 49 products from the 3231 that were entered from companies in 49 different countries were given a best of the best accolade in 2009.
The international red dot jury takes many criteria – including innovation, functionality, quality, longevity and user-friendliness – into consideration before making its decision.
The BC4 Flight Timer was recognised for its many outstanding design features, including its ability to display three time zones simultaneously on one dial.
This is made possible by the Oris-developed Worldtimer movement.
The compass and innovative folding clasp design also helped to convince the jury.
