Hautlence: HLQ

Dès sa fondation, la marque HAUTLENCE s’est donnée pour but de révéler des conceptions horlogères innovantes en les associant à des designs contemporains.
Inspirée par l’architecture des formes, la nouvelle ligne HLQ fait la démonstration en volume et en mécanique combien, dans cette entreprise, la créativité de pointe est en perpétuel mouvement.
Une vraie manufacture horlogère existe en premier lieu à travers sa capacité de régulièrement produire des calibres différents des précédents. À l’écoute de ses différents marchés, HAUTLENCE a bien saisi qu’il ne suffit pas d’enrichir la gamme en renouvelant régulièrement les volumes ou les matières pour répondre aux attentes des passionnés.
Pour cette raison, la maison basée au coeur de Neuchâtel a pris le parti d’élargir sa palette créative en proposant une nouvelle collection de montres qui, en étant tout à fait nouvelle, conserve intègre au sein d’un savant remaniement le code génétique à la racine même de sa fondation.

Ronde comme l’essence du temps

En remaniant les volumes pour la collection HLQ, HAUTLENCE joue une nouvelle fois avec les symboles géométriques. Son logo, extrapolation de l’anneau de Moebius, représentation graphique de l’infini, invite à une réflexion quasi métaphysique.
On comprend alors qu’en s’enrichissant d’une montre ronde – avec toujours ce lien entre la forme et la fonction, colonne vertébrale de la marque -HAUTLENCE explore la symbolique des formes pour révéler, à sa façon, la portée philosophique de la quadrature du cercle.
Cette dimension, allant au-delà du raisonnement conscient, explique sans doute pourquoi la ronde HLQ, née du désir de répondre aux aspirations de l’essentiel de la clientèle horlogère, demeure avec toutes ses différences, la projection naturelle des collections HL et HLS. Ainsi, sur le principe de lecture de son premier calibre, le mouvement HL a été rebâti avec la date sous forme de disque quantième en périphérie à l’ensemble heure sautante et minute rétrograde.

Ronde comme son calibre

Avec son nouveau calibre, HAUTLENCE signe son entrée dans l’univers des marques ayant choisi d’inscrire leur nom au frontispice de l’histoire. En proposant dans sa collection un deuxième mouvement développé et produit en toute indépendance, la jeune manufacture prouve aux sceptiques combien elle entend s’inscrire dans la durée.
Par souci d’entretenir la filiation entre l’aîné des calibres à remontage manuel et le nouveau mouvement, l’équipe de développeurs de HAUTLENCE a travaillé en concertation et abouti à la conclusion suivante que le nouveau coeur de la HLQ devait entretenir les associations visuelles sans pour autant chercher à réemployer la même cinématique pour la lecture de l’heure.
Ainsi, le calibre rond à remontage manuel fait appel dans cette configuration intégrant un disque de quantième, à un engrenage à développement sectoriel couplé à un pignon à denture micrométrique calibrée, en prise avec l’axe de la minuterie.
Cette disposition permet d’optimiser l’espace et d’augmenter le secteur de lecture de la minute.
L’heure sautante et la minute rétrograde restent commandées par l’astucieux brevet HL combinant la translation glissière sous l’effet de recul du palpeur de colimaçon avec une masselotte en or agissant comme volant d‘inertie et permettant d’apporter les énergies nécessaires au saut du disque.
Enfin, pour simplifier le réglage de la date, les concepteurs internes ont intégré un correcteur instantané judicieusement positionné et accessible à l’entre corne à 12h.

Ronde et fractale

En jouant de la répétition des cercles jusque dans les secteurs d’arc de lecture des minutes, la ronde HLQ redessine son visage avec le savant plaisir de faire de sa géométrie une allusion à la répétitivité de l’infini.
La boîte de 44 mm a été recomposée sur l’ADN de la HL, en conservant les lignes pures et minimalistes de celle-ci. La forme cylindrique de boîte architecturée pour optimiser l’ouverture a orienté le design vers une construction déstructurée ; ainsi les 4 cornes sont vissées sur l’extérieur de la bande carrure optimisant ainsi l’adaptation du bracelet pivotant au plus proche du poignet du porteur.
Quelque part fractale, cette montre possède cette capacité de saisir le regard en utilisant le relief de son cadran ajouré pour donner à son propriétaire, à travers ses différentes courbes savamment travaillées, une étonnante sensation de vitesse. Elle devient alors confluence de tendances, entre modernité et artisanat d’art, urbanité chic et sportivité mesurée, et incarne une nouvelle race de garde-temps où la puissance et l’originalité en toute sobriété sont un symbole d’excellence…

For this reason, the firm is committed to extending its creative palette by offering a new collection of watches which, while totally new, has lost nothing, in its inspired refashioning, of the genetic code that makes up the very roots of its foundation.

Round like the essence of time

By reworking the volumes for the HLQ collection, HAUTLENCE is once again playing with geometric symbols. Its logo, an extrapolation of the Moebius band – a graphic representation of infinity – invites one to reflect virtually at the metaphysical level.
It then becomes apparent that by adding a round watch – still with this link between form and function, the backbone of the brand -
HAUTLENCE is exploring the symbolism of form to reveal, in its inimitable manner, the philosophical implications of squaring the circle.
This dimension, going well beyond the realm of conscious reasoning, no doubt explains why, in spite of all its differences, the round HLQ, born of the desire to fulfil the aspirations of the greater part of the watchmaking clientele, remains the natural extension of the HL and HLS collections.
Thus, using the time-display principle adopted for its first calibre, the HL movement has been rebuilt with the date in the form of a calendar disc peripheral to the jumping hour and retrograding minute assembly.

Round like its calibre

With its new calibre, HAUTLENCE seals its entry into the circle of brands that have chosen to inscribe their names on the frontispiece of history. By offering a second movement that has been developed and manufactured independently as part of its collection, the young Manufacture is revealing to sceptics the extent of its intention to transcend time.
In order to preserve the ties of paternity between the elder of the hand-wound calibres and the new movement, HAUTLENCE’s team of developers worked in unison and arrived at the following conclusion: that the new heart of the HLQ should retain the same visual associations yet avoid seeking to reuse the same kinematics for reading the time.
Hence, the round calibre with manual winding uses – in this configuration integrating a calendar disc – a sectoral gear coupled with a calibrated, micrometric toothed pinion that is directly engaged with the minute-hand axis.
With this arrangement, the use of space is optimised and the sector devoted to reading the minutes, increased.
The jumping hour and retrograding minutes are still commanded by the ingenious patented HL mechanism, which combines the slide-bar’s translation, driven by the retraction of the snail’s feeler-spindle, with a gold inertia-block that acts as an inertia wheel providing the energy required to make the disc jump.
Finally, to simplify date setting, the in-house designers have included an instantaneous corrector cleverly positioned and accessible at 12 o’clock between the horns.

Round and fractal

By playing on the repetition of circles right down to the arched sections reserved for reading the minutes, the round HLQ remodels its dial with the cerebral pleasure of knowing that its geometry is making an allusion to the repetitive nature of infinity.
The 44 mm case has been redefined based on the DNA of the HL, retaining the latter’s pure and minimalist lines. The cylindrical form of the case, designed to optimise the opening, orientated the design towards ideas of destructured construction; thus, the four horns are screwed to the outside of the caseband, thereby optimising the adjustment of the pivoting strap to fit the wearer’s wrist as snugly as possible.
Fractal to a certain extent, this watch possesses the ability to attract the eye using the relief of its openworked dial to give its owner an extraordinary sensation of speed through its various, intelligently worked curves. Thus, it sits at the confluence of trends, somewhere between modern and artistic craftsmanship, urban chic and measured sportiness, and personifies a new breed of timepieces in which understated power and originality are a symbol of excellence.
