Ce garde-temps s’imposera comme un grand classique et viendra incontestablement enrichir le patrimoine horloger de la marque. Au premier regard, on s’arrête sur les aiguilles en saphir, cerclées d’acier bleui à la main. Le duo David Zanetta et Denis Flageollet a imaginé et conçu des aiguilles d’une transparence parfaite qui permettent au détenteur de ce garde-temps de lire facilement toutes les indications de ce quantième perpétuel à guichet. Quel que soit le positionnement des aiguilles, on peut lire la date, le jour et le mois. Puis, on admire, le temps d’un instant, la lune sphérique DE BETHUNE qui tourne sur son propre axe indiquant avec précision les phases de l’astre. Composée en deux parties, l’une en acier l’autre en platine, cette minuscule sphère est bleuie manuellement à la flamme. A son côté, un guichet rond indique les années bissextiles. Subtilité supplémentaire, deux index en acier bleui pointent le mois et le jour apparaissant dans des guichets pour une meilleure visibilité.
La boîte en or de 44.4 mm de diamètre présente différentes particularités se dévoilant dès que l’on place la montre à son bras. Les berceaux d’attaches du bracelet sont mobiles afin que le garde-temps s’adapte parfaitement à la taille du poignet de son propriétaire. La couronne est à 6 heures afin de faire osmose parfaite avec la montre. Le jeu de poli mat et poli brillant fait ressortir toutes les finesses de la boîte et du cadran argenté.
Ce quantième perpétuel intègre le nouveau calibre DB2005 originaire du calibre 2004. Il a été développé au cours de l’année 2008 et présenté en 2009. Toutes les dernières technologies DE BETHUNE sont présentées dans ce calibre mécanique à remontage manuel, composé de 339 composants et disposant du double barillet auto-régulateur. Les barillets sont spécifiquement réalisés pour éliminer les frictions et transmettre efficacement le maximum d’énergie. Au sein de l’organe réglant, on découvre le balancier titane / platine avec courbe terminale plate protégé par le système triple pare-chute pour réduire au minimum les perturbations et protéger les pivots. Grâce à sa légèreté, ce balancier permet de réduire les frottements mécaniques et délivre le rapport inertie / masse idéal. La forme des ogives visibles sur le balancier permet de diminuer l’influence des frottements visqueux de l’air. Le principe de la courbe terminale plate, placée sur le même plan que le spiral compense les décentrages et facilite sa fixation. On évite de cette façon des manipulations délicates lors du réglage. On compte 25 rubis, une alternance par heure de 28’800 et une réserve de marche de 5 jours lisible sur le dos de la montre.

At first glance, it is the sapphire hands surrounded by hand-blued steel which attract the eye. The duo David Zanetta and Denis Flageollet have conceived and designed hands of perfect transparency which enable the person wearing this timepiece to read all the indications displayed in the windows of this perpetual calendar with the greatest of ease. Whatever the position of the hands, the date, the day and the month can be clearly read. Then, for a fleeting moment, one admires the DE BETHUNE spherical moon rotating on its own axis, accurately indicating the phases of the celestial body. Consisting of two parts, one steel and the other platinum, this tiny sphere is flame-blued by hand. Next to it, a round window indicates the years of the leap-year cycle. As a further subtle touch, two blued steel indexes point to the month and the day in the windows for better visibility.
The pink or grey palladium gold plated case is 44.4 mm in diameter and has various special features which are revealed as soon as the watch is placed on the wrist. The moving cradles to which the strap is attached enable the timepiece to adapt itself perfectly to the size of its owner’s wrist. The winding crown is at 6 o’clock so as to form a perfect osmosis with the watch. The play of matt and brilliantly polished surfaces brings out all the subtle details of the case and the silvered dial.
This perpetual calendar incorporates the new DB2005 calibre derived from the 2004 calibre. It was developed during 2008 and presented in 2009. Incorporating all the latest DE BETHUNE technologies, this hand-wound mechanical calibre consists of 339 components and has a self-adjusting double spring barrel. The spring barrels are specially designed to eliminate friction and to transmit the maximum amount of energy efficiently. At the heart of the regulating organ is the titanium / platinum balance with flat terminal curve protected by the triple parachute anti-shock system which reduces variations to a minimum and protects the pivots. With its lightness, this balance enables mechanical friction to be reduced and it has an ideal inertia / mass ratio. The shape of the weights on the balance reduces the effect of viscous air friction. The principle of the flat terminal curve, in the same plane as the balance spring, compensates for decentring and facilitates its fixing. In this way the delicate process of adjusting its rate is avoided. With 25 jewels, the movement makes 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 5 days readable on the back of the watch.
