Signe évocateur de la musique afro-américaine, la tonalité sied merveilleusement à la Gefica, née en terre africaine du rêve de trois amis épris d’équipées sauvages. Le bleu enivrant qui colore le cadran et le bracelet en alligator met du swing dans la construction de bronze et de titane.
A sa naissance, en 1988, la Gefica était entièrement sculptée dans le bronze, matériau primitif insolite en horlogerie. Choisi pour sa matité naturelle, le bronze a en outre le chic de se patiner avec le temps et de vivre au poignet du propriétaire de la montre. Un charme qui opère toujours dans la nouvelle Gefica, lancée en 2007, singularisée par des anneaux à billes en titane autour de la carrure et de la couronne. Son boîtier évasé, passant de 42,5 mm de diamètre à même le poignet à 46,5 en surface, s’adapte à un maximum de porteurs. Son cadran plonge vers le centre via un rehaut concave parcouru par une aiguille centrale des secondes elle-même incurvée. Au cœur de cette architecture complexe, s’égrènent les heures sautantes ainsi que les minutes et date rétrogrades chères à Genta. Les complications sont animées par le mouvement Biretro automatique, une création de la manufacture sublimée par les caractéristiques perlage concentrique et finition Potter, de couleur vieil or, appréciées à travers le fond saphir.

At its birth in 1988, the Gefica was entirely sculpted from bronze, a primitive material unknown in watchmaking. Chosen for its natural matt appearance, bronze also features the property of acquiring a unique patina over time and of enjoying a life of its own on the wrist of the watch owner. This charm is as potent as ever in the new Gefica launched in 2007 and distinguished by beaded titanium rings surrounding the case middle and the crown. Its flared case, extending from 42.5 mm in diameter on the wrist to 46.5 mm on the surface, is suited to a wide range of wearers. Its dial dips towards the centre via a concave outer ring with a curved central seconds hand gliding over it. At the heart of this complex structure lie a favourite Genta combination of functions: jumping hours along with retrograde minutes and date. These complications are driven by the self-winding Biretro movement in this horological creation enhanced by the concentric circular graining and Potter finish (old gold colour) that can be admired through the sapphire crystal case-back.
